The overall goal of the CU CyberSafety Research Center, founded in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, is to make the Internet safer for its users. The theme of safety is an important emerging research topic on the Internet that manifests itself daily as users navigate the Web and networked applications. For example, one of our cybersafety research projects focuses on the issue of making social network users safer from cyberbullying threats and intimidation. Another of our cybersafety research projects seeks to make both mobile and online video chat safer from the threat of flashers. We will continue to pursue these and other exciting research projects that integrate the theme of CyberSafety.
